A pair of prisoners escaped from Columbia Correctional Institution in Wisconsin and Law enforcement officers are looking for them.

The two inmates who escaped are James Robert Newman, 37, and Thomas E. Deering, 46, as indicated by Portage, Wisconsin, police and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Newman was spending his time on firearms charges, and Deering was jailed for housebreaking, kidnapping and rape charges, according to Wisconsin prison records.
The Sheriff’s Office urged people to close their doors and stay at home. Due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, Wisconsin has been under another expanded order to stay at home, except for particular emergency activities considered main, since March 25.
