Veteran war hero, Captain Tom Moore, sets up a fundraiser to help the army, but this time not the ones in the khaki uniforms but the ones in doctors and nurses’ uniforms.

During yesterday’s show of Good Morning Britain, Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid had mentioned this 99 years old war hero’s walk to raise money. The initial target was to raise £100,000 by walking 100 lengths of his garden. But after overwhelming contributions from viewers, he was able to raise way past the £500,000 target and was only a few steps away from a million. Not to mention, Piers Morgan had a major role in hiking the target. His generous contribution led to this massive fundraising which is now going to help those fighting against the coronavirus pandemic from the frontline.

Extending his gratitude, the old veteran said, “Piers and Susanna it is amazing and thank you Piers for your contribution yesterday. It was enormous; it was so kind of you.”

Also, people have been so generous that even the fundraising page named ‘JustGiving’ crashed owing to the massive flow-in of donations. Currently, the amount raised is £1.4 million and counting.

Moore’s success in reaching the target was celebrated on the platform of GMB as well. The fund raised through this process will go directly to NHS Charities Together for those fighting against coronavirus in the NHS.
