Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic won his Grand Slam for the 18th time in a row. People may have thought at least once that the player may lag just a tad bit this time. Why? Consider the situation— during the third round; he tore a muscle in his abdomen. He was not as sure about competing further in the game. On Sunday, entering the game, in the tournament, over 5 sets were ceded by him. This was a personal drop record, especially on his journey to a major cup.

To make matters even tougher, he was against another legend, Daniil Medvedev. The player is known for his winning stream for 20 matches. So things were expected to become even more rigid for Novak Djokovic.

But who are we kidding? Melbourne Park and the player have an apparent relationship of dominance with his unparalleled game. He now has a record 9 championships in 9 finals. And he is not in the mood for slowing down. With his Grand Slams, he is on his way to join and perhaps top Rafael Nadal & Roger Federer with, after the last game, 18 wins. He is only two behind the legends mentioned.

Novak Djokovic Speaks About The Game

The star player improved his servings this time. As usual, he returned with relentlessness, and with his excellence in the baseline, out of the 13, he won 11 games. All of them in a single stretch.

Novak Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev for a consecutive win in the games for the third time. His scores went 7-5, then 6-2, and closed with 6-2 again. The match was done within two hours. He then went to his sideline and removed his shirt. He then peeled the athletic tapes that were beige from his belly.

He said it was “emotionally” his most challenging Grand Slam yet. He said this on the basis of the quarantine, the injury, and off-court shenanigans.

Novak Djokovic then admitted that he was quite worried as he did not believe he would play the match.
