The future of Mauro Icardi at PSG continues to receive the green light, but if it happens it could lead to a major departure from their squad.

With the recent news about PSG trying to permanently sign Mauro Icardi who is on loan from Inter Milan, Marco Veratti, a long-standing servant of the club could depart if conclusions are made for him to stay.

Veratti was once linked with a move away from PSG two years ago, which got to the extent, the Italian even opted not to join the club’s pre-season training camp in Qatar.

Veratti’s future had always remained in doubt with the Italian international not ruling out a possible move to Real Madrid someday.

Mauro Icardi 27, joined Paris Saint Germain from Italian Serie A side Inter Milan at the start of the after having a little misunderstanding with the club’s board.

This misunderstanding was as a result of his future, as he was quoted speaking about a move away from the club, which left with the captain armband stripped off him.

But PSG provided a quick relief alternative for him, with his girlfriend who has been his agent confirming his departure to Paris Saint Germain at the end of last season.

Icardi has since gone on to find a new home in the French Capital club under coach Thomas Tuchel.

Icardi was among the PSG squad that humiliated Real Madrid at the Parc Des Princes in the Champions League this season.

With a release clause of over €70 million euros, PSG have all in their hands to keep him or let him return to the club where a lot of competition has already established itself since Antonio Conte took over the job.

Icardi started off with Barcelona through the club’s academy before moving to Inter Milan.

Icardi establishing himself at PSG means he is capable of settling in any a league he finds himself.

Looking back at the relationship between Icardi and Veratti’s possible departure, Icardi’s presence sought to hinder the Italian a little bit.

But back home in Inter Milan, the club’s chief Javier Zanetti thinks the Argentine has no future at the club which rules out a possible return to the club.

Javier Zanetti cited that the club isn’t looking at the market just yet.

Despite netting over 20 goals for Paris Saint Germain, the French club hasn’t indicated any interest in keeping the player longer at the club.

However, there’s still light at the end of the tunnel for Icardi as PSG could be set to make his deal permanent in a bid to sign Miralem Pjanic from Juventus this summer.

Icardi also made over 31 appearances for FC Barcelona before switching sides.

But this deal could become an avenue for Marco Veratti to move into Real Madrid.

Veratti who couldn’t hide his desire to play for the Los Blancos made his intentions known last year in a come get me plea to the club.

Should PSG make Icardi’s deal permanent, when they risk losing Marco Veratti?

It may just worth the deal looking back at his first impression at the club with over 20 goals to his name.
