SAKO Architects in Tianshui outdid themselves with a kaleidoscopic arrangement of rainbow-colored glass panels that emit with brilliance every time the sunlight hits them. With 483 glasses of 10 different colors, the kindergarten is a sight to behold and could rival any tourist spot.
Looks like Parasite was not the only place where architecture gives rise to brilliance. The architects must have hoped to include the different colors to make the kids feel bright and creative during the day when classes are filled with the warmth of the colorful lights that come alive due to sunlight.
At night, the light from the inside paints a picturesque image around the structure. Both from inside and outside, the structure appears like a school less and more like a “Birthday Cake”. Now, who can refuse to go inside that?
The doors and windows are arched to give it the feel of Loess Plateau caves. The atrium has both cooling as well as heating arrangements. The staircases are curved topsy-turvy and look like fun. But the best part is the children-safe rooftop playground.
If kids there go to school more often than we did, we would have no doubt why.
