According to reports, the vice-president honored two designers from the black community by embracing their outfits. This choice of hers comes as a representation of her support towards a community that is underrepresented. This also means that the vice-president is here to voice the opinions of the community.
Kamala Harris also chose to wear her regular accessory, her signature pearls. The pearl necklace is the signature accessory of the sorority that she belongs to, the Alpha Kappa Alpha. The foundation of this dates back to over 100 years ago at the university of Black that Kamala Harris went to.
