John Fetterman is the Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania state of the United States of America. He started the Senate bid on 8th February 2021, Monday. As a result, he is the 1st major candidate who has entered possibly the most expensive as well as a competitive race to win the most coveted open seat in the Senate.
John Fetterman has been a sensation in the media for the past few years and maintained a tattooed Democrat who is known for preferring Dickies and Carhartt gear over a formal suit. He has also held the position of mayor in Braddock.
Race To Senate Seat Kick-started By John Fetterman
John Fetterman kick-started his campaign for the Senate by drawing focus towards his support to organized labor, marijuana legalization, minimum way, and LGBTQ rights. The launch video represented him appealing to the residents of his state to vote and revitalize Braddock.
He also stated that he is running because of the reason that he is nearing the 20-year mark of his political journey. He also added that he wants to work for the residents of Braddock.
Now, Fetterman is about to start the campaign along with the support of 2 labor unions including Commercial Local 1776 and United Steelworkers 10. These 2 unions have a total number of workers of about 80,000 in Pennsylvania.
Previously, he had unsuccessfully run for Pat Toomey, Republican Senator’s seat in 2016. In 2018, he successfully managed to defeat Mike Stack, Democrat Lt. Governor, as well as win general elections with double digits.
This unique opportunity at winning an open seat in the Senate has lured several potential candidates including Lamb, Kenyatta, and Boyle from the Democrat party and Jim Kenney, Chrissy Houlahan, Val Arkoosh, and Helen Gym from the Republicans.
