Republican Rep. from Indianapolis, Trey Hollingsworth told WIBC-FM that he would support President Trump’s decision of the nation going back to work. He feared that the economic losses the country is bringing on itself will have a more severe effect than the pandemic itself.
Hollingsworth went on adding, “It is always the American government’s position to say, in the choice between the loss of our way of life as Americans and the loss of life, of American lives, we have to always choose the latter,”.
The congressman further declared that he preferred a good life over a longer one. Even Dan Patrick from Texas approved of this opinion. The later added that the senior citizens should be taking chances on their own survival for preserving the economy of the country.
However, the Democrats, like Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York vigorously opposed this type of decision. Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, among other medical experts warned that coming out now would mean welcoming a new wave of the pandemic for the people.
