As we are socially distancing and staying cooped up in our houses, gaming has increased across the world. One game is getting a lot of hype: Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The relaxing and fun gameplay has really kept the interest of the gamers. And to top it all off, there is a Fishing Tourney happening in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It started or will start in the morning of 12th April and lasts only between 9am – 6pm as per your local time. If you miss it, don’t worry – it will be there through the entire year.
The rules are simple. You have to go to C.J in the town square and enter the tournament. It will be free the first time but the subsequent entries will cost 500 bells. Now, in the Tourney, you have to catch fish, as many as you can, within 3 minutes. Rewards will be on the basis of the number of fish you caught.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons made the rules simpler than the previous Animal Crossing games. Before, the breed and size of the fish were also considered and points were allocated accordingly. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, every fish is 1 point and within the 3-minute time, if you catch over 3 fish, you get 2 bonus points.
The fish that you catch will not be added to your pocket inventory but the cooler present outside of Resident Services. You can talk to C.J and later sell the fish at a 150% premium rate. There are trophies as well for milestones:
- 100 points: Bronze Fish Trophy
- 200 points: Silver Fish Trophy
- 300 points: Gold Fish Trophy
The Tourney will return on 11th July, if you miss it.
