The Children of Armenia Fund will hold a Summer Soiree at Dream Hotel penthouse at 355 West 16th Street (between 8th and 9th ave.) in downtown Manhattan will all proceeds benefiting programs in rural Armenia. July 20-21, New York City. Generations of alumni from AGBU's New York Summer Internship Program (NYSIP) will reunite to celebrate the program's 25th anniversary at a special gala evening. The AGBU NYSIP founded by Vartkess† and Rita Balian has since produced 800 alumni and expanded to Paris (2003), Yerevan (2007) and Moscow (2010). The celebration's venue is Battery Gardens, which sits on the New York Harbor with iconic views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. On Friday, July 20, the AGBU Young Professionals of Greater New York will co-host an evening mixer. Tickets for the Saturday gala are now on sale for $175 and tickets for the mixer are available for $25. June 17, noon-5 PM, Indian Orchard, Mass. St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church will hold its annual Father's Day Picnic on the church grounds at 135 Goodwin Street, Indian Orchard, Massachusetts. Visitors are invited to enjoy many favorite Armenian dinners including shish kebab and rice pilaf. Baked goods will also be available for purchase. The picnic will also feature a 50/50 raffle, Armenian music and dancing, and a bounce house for the children. Admission and parking are free. July 20-22, Watertown, Mass. The third annual Boston Kermesse: One Town - One Tent festival returns to showcase the historical, cultural, artistic and culinary treasures of the Armenian community at Armenian Cultural Educational Center (ACEC) at 47 Nichols Ave, Watertown, MA 02472. Entertainment for children of all ages will be offered along with ample culinary offerings reflecting the presence of Armenian life in many corners of the world. As for entertainment, Arman Hovanisyan, Harout Pamboukjian, Onnik Dinkjian, John Berberian, Mal Barsamian, Classic Groove and others will provide lively entertainment during the course of the festival. This family oriented festival is being organized by the ACEC to help sustain the cultural and educational endeavors of the Center. The Center supports the activities of the ARS, AYF, Hamazkayin, Homenetmen, and St. Stephen's Day, Saturday and Sunday Schools.
