Geghard, Kotayk Province - On November 14, employees of the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia, Tufenkian Foundation, Hye Dzmer Pap Charitable Foundation as well as the Armenian General Benevolent Union's Young Professionals joined forces to combat poverty in Armenia. They traveled to the village of Geghard to help the Karapetyan family build their house.

For almost 19 years, Senik and Karine Karapetyan -who have 4 children - were forced to move from place to place, having no home of their own, struggling against the harsh winter cold, fighting daily for their children's health and praying that the next day would bring some peace of mind.

year ago having their own house seemed like an impossible dream: a home where they would be happy, where their children would wake up under a safe roof and where they would spend the Christmas of 2010.

In December 2005, with funds provided by the Tufenkian Foundation and Hye Dzmer Pap Foundation, the family obtained a parcel of land where they could build a house. VivaCell-MTS and the Tufenkian Foundation provided funds to build foundations and walls, and now with a no-interest loan provided by the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia, the family is close to realizing their dream of so many years.

On November 14, the heads of the donor organizations as well as a team of young professionals from AGBU volunteered on the construction of the Karapetyans' house in Geghard and laid cement floors for them.
