Armenian American supporters of Barack Obama's candidacy have written a letter faulting the president for failing to keep his pre-election promises, and warning that a continuing failure would have an electoral impact in 2010.

The coordinators of "Armenians for Obama" noted in their October 1 letter to the chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, "the policies of the Obama-Biden Administration are undermining our community's support for the White House."

They singled out the president's failure to use term "genocide" in his April 24 speech, his support for "objectionable elements" of the Armenia-Turkey protocols, and his proposal to reduce aid to Armenia as some of those policies.

"This situation seriously threatens the support of Armenian American voters for the field of Democratic candidates seeking office in 2010," they warned.
