From Armenia in brief: Armenia’s soccer team beats Belgium on home turf

In a World Cup qualifier match, Armenia's national soccer team beat Belgium 2-1. It was Armenia's first victory match since beating Poland 1-0 in a Euro 2008 qualifier in June, 2007.

Armenia's Hovhannes Goharyan opened the game with a goal 22 minutes into the game, while Belgium failed to get a single shot on goal in the first half of the game. Sargis Hovsepyan then scored the second goal for Armenia during the second half of the game.

Belgium's Daniel Van Buyten scored a goal for Belgium in extra time bringing the score 2-1.

Armenia is in Group 5 and currently sits at the bottom with 4 points, while Belgium is fourth with seven points with Spain at top position.
