New York - Peter Balakian will present his new book, Armenian Golgotha: A Memoir of the Armenian Genocide, 1915–1918, on Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m. at the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America in New York.

The memoir was written by Mr. Balakian's great-uncle, Armenian priest Grigoris Balakian, and was translated into English by Mr. Balakian and Aris Sevag. Armenian Golgotha is an eyewitness account of the Armenian Genocide and of Grigoris Balakian's own struggle to survive the massacres and deportations.

Both Peter Balakian and Aris Sevag will comment on the work and its importance as a historical and literary document. The presentation will be followed by a reception. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

The event will take place in G-Hall of the Diocesan Complex, located at 630 Second Avenue at 34th street in New York and will be free and open to the public.
