From Armenia in brief: EU Special Representative in Armenia again

Yerevan - The European Union's Special Representative to the South Caucasus Peter Semneby was in Armenia and met with President Serge Sargsian on February 18. Present at the meeting were Tomas Knothe, Poland's ambassador to Armenia, Serge Smessow, French ambassador to Armenia, as well as head of the European Commission to Armenia, Raul de Lutzenberger.

According to Armenpress, Mr. Sargsian underscored the importance of Armenia's deepening cooperation with the EU. The sides discussed the new Eastern Partnership initiative, the Karabakh conflict negotiation process, Armenia-Turkey relations, and the pace of reforms in Armenia.

Mr. Semneby reconfirmed the intention of the EU High Commissioner on Foreign Policy and Security Issues Javier Solana to visit Armenia in the near future.
