Yerevan - On the evening of January 27, an Armenian civilian, clearly inebriated and, according to some sources, mentally unstable, attempted to cross over to the Azerbaijani positions at the contact line in Karabakh, near Aghdam. Armenian Armed Forces, according to Lieutenant Colonel Senor Hasratyan, the press secretary of the Karabakh Defense Minister, attempted to stop the man, 25-year-old Bad Tadevosyan, from crossing the contact line but were unsuccessful.

According to Arminfo, Azerbaijani soldiers opened fire on Nagorno-Karabakh positions and, as a result, soldier Arkady Hakobyan, 25, was killed along with the civilian, Mr. Tadevosyan. Mr. Tadevosyan's body is on Azerbaijani territory.

An investigation has been initiated.
