President Serge Sargsian signed a decree on October 23 through which a Fact Finding Group of Experts was to be set up to investigate the events surrounding March 1 (See Armenian Reporter, November 1). According to Armenpress, the governing coalition on Monday nominated its members to the newly created group. They are doctors of law Robert Avagian and Gevorg Tovmasian.

The president had insisted that all those participating in the group must be experts in their respective fields and must not be an elected or appointed official or belong to any political party.

The Fact Finding Group elected the representative of the Ombudsperson, Vahe Stepanian as chair.
