Support our friends running for the Senate
Published: Saturday October 11, 2008
The Armenian Reporter and USAPAC jointly endorse candidates for the U.S. Senate. (See the print version of this editorial in pdf form.).
For us as Americans and as Armenian-Americans, the shape of Congress has been and remains vital. Since Armenia's and Karabakh's independence, it has been Congress that has set key policies for the South Caucasus and has perennially allocated U.S. assistance far above amounts requested by both Democratic and Republican presidents. And it has been Congress that has challenged decades of Executive Branch failures in dealing justly with the ongoing legacy of the Armenian Genocide.
On November 4, Election Day, voters will choose 35 senators. The Armenian Reporter and the U.S.-Armenia Public Affairs Committee (USAPAC) jointly urge Armenian-Americans to support the following candidates. (See the print version of this editorial in pdf form.)
