From Armenia in brief: Italy allocates 500,000 euros to UNDP to restore cultural monuments in Gyumri

The Italian Foreign Ministry has allocated 500,000 euros to the UNDP for the restoration of cultural monuments in Gyumri, Armenia's second-largest city. During a press briefing, Armenia's minister of culture Hasmik Poghosian told reporters that the decision was announced at a meeting between her, the Italian Ambassador to Armenia Massimo Lavezzo Cassinelli and UNDP Resident Representative Consuelo Vidal. The Armenian culture ministry had applied for the program which will provide for the restoration of 19th-century buildings.
